What is Arbor Day?
Arbor Day is a special day that is set aside on our calendars to raise awareness of trees and the important role that they play in our environment. Traditionally, Arbor Day is celebrated in the United States on the last Friday in April. Arbor Day was first celebrated in Nebraska (due to a noticeable lack of trees throughout the state) in 1872 and it quickly grew to be a national and international day. People throughout the world take part in tree planting events and other celebrations of nature. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of trees and to highlight the fact that they are one of the most valuable sustainable resources we have.
Why is Arbor Day important to LovePop Cards?
As with most greeting card companies, our cornerstone material is paper. Unfortunately, paper is created through the harvesting of trees and LovePop understands that we need to put back what we take from Mother Nature. While every day should be Arbor Day, this year we can use it as a global-scale platform to focus our attention on what we can do to protect and replenish our environment. LovePop will be using it's line of Tree Cards
to bring to light the importance of maintaining this sustainable resource.
How to honor Arbor Day with LovePop:
By purchasing a tree card from our #LPGiveATree campaign, LovePop will plant a tree courtesy of the Arbor Day Foundation. This simple act is the perfect way to publicly declare our pledge to give back to the planet. You can find our collection and more information on LovePopCards.com
