Name & Title:
Tophi Rose, Manager of the Analytics & Planning Team

Describe what you do at Lovepop.
I make sure that we have the right cards in the right places at the right time. I also make sure everyone has easy access to the right data as well as support any calculations that need to be done across the company which are too complex for Excel.

What's the best thing about your job?
Looking at cat pop-ups all-day-everyday. Also, being able to work on real-time optimization problems that have an immediate impact on the company.

Out of our 4 core values (engineering, hunger, magic, connection), which one describes you best and why?
Engineering. My whole life (personal and professional) is based on continuously optimizing things - which is central to the engineering value.

What is your favorite Lovepop card?
I love all of our cat cards equally.

Tell us about a truly unique Lovepop moment.
When we first started selling Lovepop T-shirts, I unwillingly became the t-shirt model, since I was the only person in the office who was the right size for the samples.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Driving the MBTA red line. I would make sure it actually runs on time and would not need to talk to strangers.

What do you like doing outside of work?
When I am not focused on my work, I enjoy hiking, building things, BBQing, reading, cats, and strategic games.

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pasta with red sauce... I pretty much eat this for every lunch already.

What is your go-to karaoke song?
There are few things I enjoy less than karaoke. However, I have been convinced to sing "Hotel California" a few times by our Vietnam team while visiting our workshop.

Love your sense of humor about engineering and math.
What software do you use? I favor SAS, for population level statistical analyses. I can tell that we are not related, even though the last name is the same, as we harbour dogs, not cats.
