At Lovepop, we are committed to developing designs that reflect all cultures and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lovepop will donate 50% of every purchase of the Happy Juneteenth card to The Conscious Kid, the education, research, and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth.
Overview: Juneteenth – also known as Freedom Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day – is a holiday commemorating the June 19, 1865 emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States. For over 150 years, the holiday has lived on through rich traditions, including lively celebrations in the form of festivals and parades with music, storytelling, and barbecues.
Decorated with the words "love", "blackness", "family", “freedom,” and "solidarity”, our Happy Juneteenth pop-up card celebrates the cultural heritage and freedom of the Black community. Designed in collaboration with the Black-owned design network The J+AM Group, this impactful design commemorates the historical righting of wrongs and emphasizes the importance of true equality, love, respect, and freedom for all of mankind.
“Juneteenth is a mood. It represents a deep sigh of relief for the Black community. It’s like the moment you listen to the most soothing, joyous sound. A moment of peace, contentment, celebration. That moment, that feeling, that mood is captured in this design.” - Khia Jackson, The J+AM Group
